Job summary

Strategic Mission Critical in Atlanta, GA seeks a Senior BMS Design Engineer to lead the design and technical development of Building Management Systems and EPMS for mission critical facilities.

You will develop control sequences, specify I/O and communication protocols, coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams, and ensure seamless integration with owner requirements and other building systems in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in building automation or HVAC controls design.
• Strong understanding of HVAC system operation and control logic.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP and PLC/DDC based BMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed control system design documents (sequences of operation, diagrams, points lists).
• Create BMS specifications and define integration strategies with other building systems.
• Specify control panel requirements, I/O needs, and communication protocols.
• Collaborate with mechanical/electrical engineers to align system logic with owner design requirements.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews of drawings, sequences, and integration details.
