Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior BMS Controller Engineer in Mossville, IL. You will design, develop, and test ECM/ECUs for genset, battery management systems, and inverter/motor control, leading cross-disciplinary collaboration across software, battery, and machine teams.

The role requires a degree in electrical engineering; advanced degrees are preferred. Expect exposure to NPI, APQP, and rigorous validation, with relocation support and on-site scheduling commitments.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience with ECM/ECU design for gensets, BMS, and inverters/motor control.
• Strong knowledge of electronics, analog/digital design, and validation methods.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ECM/ECU compliance with functional and environmental requirements.
• Develop product requirements, analysis, and platform verification and validation.
• Collaborate with software, battery, system, and machine teams to integrate platforms.
• Negotiate with ECM/ECU vendors for system development.
• Troubleshoot ECM/ECU issues through development and production.
• Mentor technicians and engineers in electrical system development.
