Qualifications
- Minimum: Associate Degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology
- Preferred: Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and Networking
- HL-7 interfaces to EMR systems familiarity
- JCAHO/ NEC/NFPA knowledge
- AAMI BMET certification recommended
- Experience with two or more advanced medical systems and OEM training
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair general and advanced biomedical equipment.
- Provide guidance and training to BMET I and Co-ops or clinical users.
- Lead small BMET teams and coordinate with vendors and clinicians.
- Interface devices with EMR systems (EPIC) and other IT systems.
- Act as liaison with manufacturers for problem escalation and quality issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines.
