Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) seeks a Senior Manager, Blood Bank to lead Blood Bank operations across our Center for Laboratory Medicine and regional sites. You will drive operational excellence, regulatory readiness, and a high‑performing team dedicated to transfusion medicine for oncology patients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required.
• Progressive leadership experience in Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine and regulatory compliance.
• Preferred ASCP certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for Blood Bank across MSK locations.
• Mentor and develop laboratory supervisors and staff to foster a high-performing culture.
• Ensure compliance with NYS, AABB, CAP, CLIA, FDA, and institutional regulations.
• Oversee quality initiatives, inspections, accreditation readiness and corrective actions.
• Partner with physicians and leadership to optimize workflows and service delivery.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, recruitment, and staff development.
• Participate in budgeting, vendor management, and capital equipment planning.
• Support implementation of new technologies and process improvements.
