Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's degree and NYS CLT license.
• Experience with Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine.
• 10 years of progressive laboratory leadership in Blood Bank operations.
• Experience leading quality initiatives, inspections, accreditation, and regulatory compliance.
• Academic medical center or multi-site experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for Blood Bank services across MSK locations.
• Mentor and develop laboratory supervisors and staff; foster a high-performing culture.
• Ensure compliance with NYS, AABB, CAP, CLIA, FDA, and institutional regulations.
• Oversee quality management, inspections, accreditation readiness, and corrective actions.
• Partner with physicians and leadership to optimize workflows and service delivery.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, recruitment, and performance management.
• Participate in budgeting, resource planning, vendor management, and capital equipment planning.
• Support implementation of new technologies and process improvements across sites.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field
