Job summary

SOLANA FOUNDATION's Anza team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Block Production, to fortify the Agave client and the Solana network. You will join a DevOps-like environment focusing on the core pipeline between networking and runtime, handling block production and verification.

You will optimize scheduling, ensure security, scalability, and performance, and collaborate across protocol, security, and infrastructure teams. Experience with Rust or C/C++ and distributed systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong proficiency in Rust and C/C++, and system programming.
• Experience with distributed systems and blockchain technology is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize block production mechanisms to improve throughput and stability.
• Design and refine scheduling for block production and verification for efficient processing.
• Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities within the pipeline.
• Improve scalability to handle rising transaction volumes and validator participation.
• Create and execute tests including stress tests and benchmarking.
• Collaborate with core protocol engineers, security and infrastructure teams.
• Maintain documentation and conduct peer code reviews.
• Design high-performance shared-memory interfaces between scheduling and execution stages.
