Job summary

Austin Powder is seeking an experienced Blaster to manage location assets and personnel at customer sites in Tennessee. The Senior Blaster reports to the Operations Manager and ensures blasting operations meet safety and customer requirements.

You will review drill patterns, supervise crews, and coordinate with APC staff to maintain compliance with MSHA, OSHA, ATF, and DOT regulations while delivering high-quality blasting services.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of certified blasting experience.
• Able to obtain Austin Powder Certification and State Blaster's License as required.
• CDL Class A with Hazmat endorsements preferred.
• MSHA Safety and First Aid Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by complying with MSHA, OSHA, ATF, and DOT regulations.
• Reviews drill patterns and determines product and shot layout to meet customer needs.
• Prepares designated blasting area including shelter, equipment, and blast area.
• Supervises personnel at customer site/blast area.
• Maintains positive customer relationships to support growth and pricing controls.
• Communicates blast details and prepares detonation procedures.
• Conducts Pre/Post Shot Safety Audits at each event.
• Completes paperwork per Austin Powder policy and regulatory requirements.
• Ensures compliance with customer policies and company inventory procedures.
• Coordinates handling of customer issues and blast area incidents with APC personnel.
• Keeps sales and Location Manager informed of customer accounts.
