Job summary

Polaris Inc. is seeking a seasoned design/engineering professional to lead the development of structural components for Powersports vehicles from concept to production.

You will own the lifecycle, drive validation, and coordinate with suppliers, program teams, and operations to meet performance, quality, and cost goals. The role requires 5+ years in design or systems engineering, BIW or stamping experience, and strong CAD/FEA capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline is required.
• Experience with stamping, metal joining, and structural component design.
• BIW experience is preferred.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling software; Creo experience is preferred.
• Experience using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
• Experience with Windchill PLM software is preferred.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, FMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, and fit-and-finish evaluation.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with and travel to domestic and international technology partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and validation of structural components and assemblies from concept through production.
• Ensure designs meet safety, quality, reliability, timing, and cost objectives.
• Complete design activities and support timely release of components and documentation through established processes.
• Create and maintain component specifications, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, and related documentation.
• Own and manage structural development plans through design, sourcing, validation, manufacturing, and production implementation.
• Support validation activities and manufacturing strategies for structural systems and variants.
• Evaluate and recommend manufacturing methods to meet design and cost targets.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, manufacturing teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to deliver robust solutions.
• Develop engineering concepts, layouts, sketches, and technical documentation.
