Avnet is a global technology distributor seeking a Business Information Security Officer to bridge enterprise cybersecurity governance with diverse business units. You will translate policy, risk posture, and priorities into actionable guidance to support decision-making, revenue growth, and risk reduction.

The role emphasizes embedded security leadership, governance, vulnerability management, and regulatory readiness across units, with a focus on enabling growth while maintaining security

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Ability to translate technical risk into business impact for executives.
• Experience supporting compliance programs and audit processes.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity governance, risk management, and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Align security with each business unit and triage security requests.
• Assess systems, categorize risk and select appropriate controls.
• Translate risk into business terms and develop corrective action plans.
• Establish governance touchpoints and provide visibility into risk posture.
• Support vulnerability management and secure baseline adoption across environments.
• Assist in security for customer-facing functions and revenue activities.
• Support certification and regulatory compliance efforts (e.g., ISO 27001, NIS2, SOX, PCI, HIPAA).
• Drive remediation urgency and ensure enterprise guardrails are followed.
