Job summary

Lilly is seeking a Sr. Principal Bioprocess Engineer to support a new manufacturing facility in Goochland County, Virginia.

You will help build the organization, culture, and startup operations for GMP manufacturing of monoclonal antibodies and related products. The role focuses on process engineering, qualification, tech transfer, and continuous improvement across start-up and ongoing operations, reporting to the Global Facility Delivery team and collaborating with cross-functional teams to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Process, Chemical, Biochemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years of process team experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, preferably monoclonal antibody manufacturing.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly will not sponsor work authorization or visas.

Responsibilities

• Provide Process Engineering support during facility start-up with emphasis on right first time and on-schedule start-up.
• Define and own aspects of the Operational Readiness Plan including SOPs, maintenance strategy, automation optimization, MES/EBR, alarms, and PQ study requirements.
• Own the Performance Qualification strategy and execution for area of responsibility; support initial Operations Training as SME.
• Lead or support tech transfer of processes into the facility.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Monitor equipment performance to maintain ongoing qualification and safety basis for process equipment.
