Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Engineer II to lead brand forecasting deliverables, align stakeholders, and identify strategies to improve commercial potential. You will work across functions, applying advanced modeling, scenario planning, and AI-enabled tools to refine forecasts and drive decisions.

The role requires a strong quantitative background, experience with large pharma datasets, and the ability to influence leadership with data-driven insights. May telecommute where possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Management or a related field and 6 years of experience in forecasting or related work.
• Develop patient-based forecasting models and cohort projections to inform product strategy.
• Quantitative techniques include time series, regression, smoothing and Monte Carlo simulation.
• Experience with commercial datasets (IQVIA Xponent, Symphony Health, National Audit Rx) and epidemiology data.
• Knowledge of global market access, payer landscapes and policy scenarios for forecasting models.
• Proficiency with Excel pivot tables, lookups and scenario modeling; familiarity with risk analysis tools.
• Experience in oncology and immuno-oncology contexts; exposure to AI tools in enterprise systems (Anaplan, Risk/Crystal Ball; ChatGPT/Copilot).

Responsibilities

• Engage Brand Lead and senior Therapeutic Area leaders to align forecast assumptions and deliverables.
• Develop and refine forecasting models; present transparent, decision-ready analyses to leadership.
• Identify actionable strategies to improve commercial potential by analyzing risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with CD&A and other functions to integrate analytics into forecasting processes.
• Quantify uncertainty with scenario planning and advanced simulations; communicate key variables clearly.
