Intelas, a Compass Healthcare company, seeks a BMET III in Chicago, IL to maintain and service patient care equipment across facilities. The role demands plan maintenance, safety inspections, and on-call support to ensure equipment uptime and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with clinical staff and fellow technicians, manage service schedules, and document activities in our asset management systems while contributing to continuous quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology or equivalent experience.
• 3 years servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.
• Must have valid driver’s license for travel roles.
• Ability to work independently with some supervision.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Proficient with computer applications for tracking service histories and reporting assets.
• Willingness to be on-call as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on equipment in compliance with standards.
• Manages all assigned equipment and schedules service.
• Performs pre-acceptance inspections and develops PM procedures; maintains procedural files.
• Ensures test equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.
• Responds to clinical calls to evaluate and rectify issues.
• Researches and orders repair parts within budget parameters.
• Maintains PO log and validates invoices for field staff.
• Provides informal training to users and staff as needed.
• Makes recommendations to the Department Manager on service strategies.
• Participates in Quality Improvement/Risk Management initiatives.
• Maintains orderly work environment and participates in meetings.
• Provides emergency on-call duties as needed.
• Documents significant asset actions per department practices.
• Collaborates with technical personnel in meetings to discuss updates.
