Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, PA seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician to provide advanced maintenance and service on biomedical and clinical data/network systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, testing, calibration, and repairs on a range of equipment, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across locations.

You will also train staff, develop literature, and help manage parts, while working in a team to stay current with new trends and technologies in biomedical engineering.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field, OR high school diploma with 2 years progressive experience in biomedical equipment repairs.
  • At least 1 year progressive experience performing electronic/electromechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on biomedical equipment.
  • Ability to perform component-level repairs about 35% of the time.
  • Proficiency in repairing anesthesia machines, anesthetic gas analyzers, blood cell savers, and diagnostic ultrasound machines.
  • Knowledge of QA procedures, PM procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work well in a team and manage changing priorities.
  • Willingness to visit multiple business locations.

Responsibilities

  • Complete PM workload to maintain PM compliance.
  • Provides safety checks, repairs, and installations of biomedical and communications equipment.
  • Identifies and obtains supplies to service, maintain, and repair equipment at the lowest possible cost.
  • Maintains supporting technical literature such as manufacturer literature, references standards, specifications, and other documents for the biomedical program.
  • Ensures equipment conforms to regulatory requirements and quality control standards.
  • Makes presentations to small groups to keep staff updated on new trends.
  • Provides in-service and training on biomedical equipment and electrical safety.
