Job summary

University of Missouri Health Care is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician III to lead advanced technical support, preventive maintenance, and complex troubleshooting for medical equipment. This on-site role involves installations, safety inspections, and mentoring junior technicians to ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree in a related field and 7 years of BMET experience; CBET/CRES can substitute for one year.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
Seven (7) years of experience as a biomedical equipment technician or radiology equipment specialist.
CBET or CRES certification may substitute for one year of required experience.

Responsibilities

Leads troubleshooting and technical support for medical equipment users to determine root causes of failure.
Establishes standards and protocols for test methods and equipment performance criteria.
Manages calibration and maintenance of complex medical equipment systems to meet regulatory standards.
Oversees safety inspections and initiates required services for high-risk equipment.
Manages system installations, including planning, scheduling, and oversight of contractors and vendors.
Oversees asset management, including scheduling maintenance and tracking parts inventory.
Documents work performed in the CMMS to maintain accurate service records.
Performs cross-functional project management duties in collaboration with department managers, vendors, and contractors.
