Job summary

OhioHealth in Columbus, OH, seeks a BMET III to provide expert repair, installation, and calibration of sophisticated medical devices and support systems used in patient care, including life‑support and analytic devices.

Under minimal supervision, you will lead PMs, perform complex calibrations, train end users, and maintain regulatory documentation. This role may involve supervisory duties and advising on capital purchases in the Clinical Engineering department.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; field of study in Biomedical Engineering Technology or equivalent military training.
• 4–6 years of relevant biomedical equipment experience.
• Certification in AAMI and vendor life‑support devices is preferred.
• Experience with complex medical device testing and regulatory documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM and electrical safety tests on clinical devices, including life‑support and complex equipment.
• Conduct corrective maintenance, calibrations, and lead installation projects; monitor third‑party repairs.
• Provide in‑services and training for end users on device maintenance and operation.
• Maintain accurate documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide operational leadership and may serve as temporary supervisor; advise on capital purchases.
