Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician II to repair and maintain clinical equipment, document work, and support on-call rotations across multiple sites.

The role focuses on safety, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with clinical staff to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate has an Associate degree or equivalent in electronics, plus five years of BME II experience and formal device-class training.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical training in electronics or related field
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
• Five years’ experience as Biomedical Equipment Technician II
• Five device classes of formal training with certificates

Responsibilities

• Provide repair and maintenance services on assigned equipment to meet manufacturer specs and AEM program requirements.
• Document all service and maintenance activities accurately.
• Offer expert knowledge in durable medical equipment and take lead on first-look assessments.
• Participate in pre-purchase evaluation programs and act as a consultant on related responsibilities.
• Handle project management duties for technical, clinical, and in-service support as needed.
• Evaluate equipment failures to identify trends and design issues.
• Assist with installation and de-installation of medical equipment.
• Provide on-call support and travel to other sites as required.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance (Joint Commission and others).
• Lead and supervise biomedical staff during maintenance and safety tasks.
