Job summary

Veterans Engineering, a wholly owned subsidiary of Aretum, provides advanced biomedical engineering support to healthcare facilities, ensuring equipment safety, functionality and regulatory compliance.

The role involves troubleshooting complex devices, conducting preventive maintenance, and staff training on proper equipment use and safety practices. Travel to client sites is required, with an emphasis on high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

• Five years of hospital/healthcare experience in medical equipment maintenance.
• Associate degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
• Competency in operational verification, planned maintenance and repair service on medical equipment.
• Understanding of regulatory agencies’ requirements, industry regulations and ISO standards.
• Familiarity with setup and application of test equipment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical literature, schematics, and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming inspections and periodic inspections on medical equipment or devices.
• Perform QA checks to ensure equipment conforms to manufacturer literature for components and performance.
• Install, calibrate and test medical equipment per manufacturer literature and authorization.
• Document inventory and asset management according to VA processes.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to identify defect sources.
• Schedule and/or unschedule maintenance as required.
• Document using VA’s electronic system per VA standards.
