Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc in the Los Angeles area seeks a Biomedical/Biomechanical Engineer to perform human-injury analyses for vehicular, industrial, and recreational incidents and to prepare clear written findings and testify in legal proceedings.

Required: master's in biomedical/biomechanical engineering (PhD preferred), PE license preferred or obtainable within 1 year, ACTAR preferred or obtainable within six months, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Master's in biomedical or biomechanical engineering; Ph.D. preferred.
  • PE license preferred or obtainable within 1 year.
  • 4+ years in biomedical/biomechanical engineering with master's; Ph.D. considered.
  • ACTAR certification preferred or obtainable within six months.
  • Strong oral and written communication; forensic engineering background helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Performs human-injury impact analysis of vehicular accidents, mechanical failures, falls, and falling objects.
  • Analyzes vehicular accidents and reconstructs them.
  • Prepares written findings in clear, concise terms.
  • Provides testimony in depositions and the courtroom.
  • Conducts human motion and injury analyses.
  • Analyzes injuries from automobile, industrial, marine, and recreational accidents.
  • Conducts on-site vehicle examinations and documents findings.
  • Reviews media and records to draw logical conclusions.
  • Locates and applies pertinent literature and regulations.
  • Applies mathematical and empirical analyses.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
