Rimkus Consulting Group in Los Angeles, CA seeks a biomedical/biomechanical engineer to perform human-injury analysis, accident reconstruction, and expert reports for litigation. The role involves on-site investigations, deposition testimony, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in healthcare and industrial settings.

Applicants should have a master's (PhD preferred), a PE license or ability to obtain within a year, 4+ years of relevant experience, and ACTAR certification or the ability

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in biomedical/biomechanical engineering; Ph.D. preferred.
  • PE license preferred or able to obtain within 1 year.
  • Minimum 4+ years in biomedical/biomechanical engineering; Ph.D. candidates may have less.
  • ACTAR certification preferred or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

  • Performs human-injury impact analysis of accidents and failures.
  • Reconstructs vehicular accidents and analyzes mechanical failures.
  • Prepares clear written reports of findings.
  • Provides testimony in depositions and court.
  • Conducts human motion and injury analyses.
  • Reviews media and records to support conclusions.
  • Applies literature and regulatory research to cases.
  • Utilizes mathematical and empirical methods in analysis.
