Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Professional, Biology to join our New York team across Buffalo, Syracuse, or Troy (Albany). You will guide data collection, analysis, and reporting for vegetation, wetlands, wildlife, and other species, ensuring compliance with environmental laws and permit requirements.

Responsibilities include leading project teams, preparing technical reports, and supporting environmental impact assessments and mitigation strategies while mentoring staff and contributing to business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or related life sciences field.
• 10+ years as environmental scientist with surveys, fieldwork, habitat and impact assessments.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level technical assistance for collection, identification, compiling, and analysis of observational and spatial data for vegetation, wetlands, wildlife, avian, and other species.
• Prepare and complete biological survey reports, data entry, impact assessment, and permitting activities for assigned projects.
• Oversee cross-functional teams in project execution, budgeting, hours tracking, and task completion.
• Provide data visualization and professional reports to address environmental impacts and permit requirements.
• Mentor junior staff and engage in industry events and business development.
