Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Managing Technical Consultant, Biologist/Regulatory Specialist, to guide CEQA/NEPA assessments and regulatory strategies for large power and technology projects across the U.S. You will lead permitting programs, mentor staff, and build strategic client relationships while ensuring environmental stewardship.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Biology, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 4+ years of consulting experience with regulatory frameworks for power/tech projects.
  • Proven ability to lead permitting and compliance programs.
  • Strong business acumen and client engagement skills.
  • Leadership experience with talent development.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Biologist/Regulatory Specialist for CEQA/NEPA assessments.
  • Prepare technical studies and impact documents (Biological Assessments, EIRs).
  • Lead permitting strategies, prepare applications, and negotiate conditions with regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee compliance for telecom, energy infrastructure, and linear development projects.
  • Collaborate with account teams to deliver strategic value and expand ERM’s services.
  • Mentor staff consultants, identify emerging talent, and foster professional growth.
  • Drive innovation within ERM’s Impact Assessment and Planning service offering.
  • Ensure project delivery meets health & safety, financial, and client satisfaction standards.
