Job summary

WSP is seeking a full‑time Biologist to support our Earth and Environment Sector, performing biological field surveys and leading wetland inventories across the North Mountain Region (UT, CO, ID, MT, WY, OR, WA). The role emphasizes independent work, team collaboration, and adherence to safety and professional standards.

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology or related field and 5+ years of consulting in linear corridor projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of consulting experience, preferably with linear corridor projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Familiarity with USFWS, BLM, USFS, and state-agency survey requirements.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Substantial biological field survey knowledge.
  • Willingness to travel periodically across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage biological field surveys (avian, wildlife, vegetation, wetlands, sensitive species, and T&E species).
  • Support environmental project teams on transmission lines, pipelines, and other energy/transport projects.
  • Coordinate wetland inventories, reporting, and permitting documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with field teams while surveys are ongoing.
  • Travel as required throughout the North Mountain Region to perform field work.
