Job summary

Zoetis Veterinary Medicine Research and Development, Biologics Process Development in Kalamazoo, MI, is seeking a Sr. Associate Scientist to support analytical testing of vaccine projects from early research through late-stage development.

The role emphasizes immunoassay and bioanalytical work and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will perform ELISA, western blotting, PCRs, Octet, and inactivation assays, manage data in ELNs, and contribute to method development and troubleshooting

Qualifications

BS/MS in microbiology, immunology, virology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, veterinary sciences, animal science or related discipline.
Minimum of two years of industry experience.
Academic or industry lab experience in bacterial or viral characterization.
Excellent written and verbal English with strong documentation and data presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Perform ELISA, western blotting, SDS-PAGE, PCRs, immunofluorescence, Octet and inactivation assays.
Metabolite analysis (Cedex, Nova2, Rebel) and endotoxin testing.
Scale up titration assays and DNA purification using automation.
Prepare reagents, media, and buffers; order and stock lab supplies.
Data entry, verification, and record keeping per SOPs.
Execute analytical methods for characterization of active biological ingredients.
Operate plate readers, microplate washers, and automated workstations.
Document and communicate results in ELNs, reports, and presentations.
Collaborate with Analytical Sciences, Process Development, and Biological Research.
