Job summary

Zoetis, Inc. in Kalamazoo, MI, seeks a Scientist in Downstream Bioprocess Development to advance GMP biologics for veterinary medicines. You will develop and optimize downstream purification and filtration for antigens and recombinant proteins, with hands-on bench work.

The role requires DoE studies, process scaling for pilot/manufacturing, and collaboration across functions to support tech transfer and regulatory filings. BSc/MSc with 3–7 years DSP experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in a relevant life sciences field with DSP focus.
• Experience in downstream processing and purification of biologics.
• Familiarity with regulatory and GMP concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize robust downstream processes for biologics antigen production and recombinant protein purification.
• Execute and troubleshoot downstream unit operations including chromatography and filtration to purify and concentrate vaccine antigens and therapeutic proteins.
• Perform DoE studies to establish design spaces and process ranges.
• Support purification of antigens and concentration of viral/bacterial materials for vaccine development.
• Scale processes with pilot and manufacturing teams and transfer to GMP environments.
• Author protocols, study reports, and tech transfer documents for internal/external filings.
• Represent DSP on interdisciplinary teams and maintain compliant electronic lab records.
