GAP Solutions Inc. seeks an Experienced Bioinformatics Scientist to support NIEHS within NIH at RTP, NC. Lead analyses of NextGen sequencing data and integrate genomics findings with biological interpretation.

The role emphasizes collaboration with biologists, data-driven reporting, and workflow development. A Ph.D. in a related field and strong programming in R, Python, MATLAB, and Linux are required.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology or related field.
• Experience with R, Python, MATLAB, Java.
• Experience with Linux, Unix, Shell, PERL.
• Skilled in Next Gen sequencing data analysis (RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, etc).
• Skilled in analyzing large genomic datasets and multi-omics data.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with biologists to design models that explain experimental data.
• Prepare reports and publication quality graphics from experiments.
• Present findings in meetings with biologists and groups.
• Develop workflows for data quality, genome integration and analyses.
• Write scripts and custom programs to support discovery.
• Analyze differential gene expression; compute fold changes and p-values.
