seeks a Bioinformatics Research Associate III to conduct computational analysis of complex genomic and transcriptomic datasets to support pathogen-agnostic characterization of known and emerging biological agents. Responsibilities include developing bioinformatics pipelines, performing advanced data interpretation and visualization, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enable public health and biodefense

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required.
• Minimum of 6–8 years' experience.
• Capable of working both independently and as a team player.
• Analytical capability with data from proteogenomic platforms including NGS and mass-spectrometry.
• Proficient with R and SAS; familiar with Oracle/MySQL databases.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to write abstracts, manuscripts, and reports.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a T3/Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze NGS, metagenomic, transcriptomic, genomic, and microbiome datasets to identify pathogens.
• Perform quality control, preprocessing, assembly, taxonomic classification, annotation, and comparative analyses.
• Integrate lab data with computational workflows for pathogen discovery, surveillance, and characterization.
• Develop and optimize computational methods and workflows for broad-spectrum biological threat detection.
• Create data visualizations, dashboards, and reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
