Job summary

Abbott in La Jolla, CA, is seeking a Senior Bioinformatics Quality Engineer to ensure the quality of medical device software for IVD, IUO and LDT products. You will verify and validate software pipelines and develop verification protocols across the full software lifecycle.

You will collaborate with bioinformatics and software teams, contribute to regulatory documentation, mentor colleagues, and help implement test-driven development in a regulated medical devices environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, CS, or related field.
• 5+ years in software quality/test engineering and/or bioinformatics.
• Experience with SDLC/Agile environments and regulatory documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute verification plans, protocols and test reports for medical device software.
• Translate requirements into verification/validation protocols across the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with bioinformatics and operations to define test inputs and strategies.
• Mentor team on software quality processes for regulated devices.
• Ensure documentation compliant with regulatory requirements.
