Job summary
Alector seeks an Associate Director, Bioanalytical Sciences to provide strategic and hands-on leadership across nonclinical and clinical programs at its South San Francisco headquarters. The role combines portfolio-level bioanalytical strategy with direct assay development and bench work.

Qualifications
- PhD or MS with extensive biotech/CRO/pharma experience.
- Hands-on ELISA/MSD assay development with ADA/NAb experience.
- Experience transferring assays to CROs and generating technical reports.
- Strong knowledge of FDA/EMA bioanalytical guidance and regulated bioanalysis.
- Leadership experience in a fast-paced multidisciplinary setting.
- Experience using AI tools and LLMs in the lab.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive bioanalytical strategy across programs.
- Lead assay development and stay hands-on in the laboratory.
- Translate bioanalytical data into clear scientific decisions.
- Partner across Research, Toxicology, and Clinical Development.
- Lead and develop the bioanalytical team and mentor staff.
- Oversee CROs and method transfer for nonclinical/clinical studies.
