Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma/GED and 2 or more years of experience.
• Ability to stand for long periods, repetitive motion, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Thorough knowledge of binding, folding, collating, and cutting of printed materials.
• Knowledge of paper weights, sizes and colors for machine adjustment.
• Skill in using standard and specialized tools to maintain bindery machines.
• Experience operating complex bindery equipment such as folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binding/gluing machines.
• Ability to read written work and follow machine operation sequences accurately.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines
• Inspect equipment for safety issues
• May operate automatic adhesive binding machines performing multiple steps
• Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a machine
• Direct crew through all aspects of production
• Monitor quality, output and productivity
