Job summary

RRD in Durham, NC is seeking a Bindery Operator to set up, adjust, and run a range of binding equipment. You will inspect machines for safety, monitor output, and ensure consistent quality across a production line handling books, catalogs and magazines.

You will lead a crew through all stages, coordinate multiple work stations, and respond quickly to material or machine issues. The role pays $24.00–$35.00 per hour with benefits and growth opportunities in a global printing and packaging company.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of set up and adjustment of standard and specialized binding equipment.
• Understanding paper weights, sizes, colors to identify conditions for machine adjustments.
• Ability to use standard and specialized tools to maintain machines.
• Skill in adjusting powered machines with hand tools and operating bindery equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions for machine operations.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues.
• Operate perfect binders with multiple stations.
• Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine.
• Direct crew through all aspects of production.
• Monitor quality, output and productivity.
