Job summary

Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey seeks a senior manager to oversee multiple billing and enrollment teams, ensuring timely and accurate bills and enrollments while reporting revenue. You will manage accounts receivable, audits, and premium collection for commercial and fully insured populations.

The role drives month-end and year-end close, supports rate renewals, and ensures internal controls across the organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum of five years of managerial experience.
• Minimum of five years of billing and enrollment operations experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze business processes for improvement and cost reduction.
• Lead process improvement initiatives using root cause analysis and workflow optimization.
• Manage cross-functional projects with IT and stakeholders.
• Maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy of financial transactions and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and standards.
• Manage departmental operating expenses within approved budgets.
• Oversee billing collection activities and delinquent accounts per regulations.
• Mentor and develop supervisors and staff in premium billing and collection.
• Build relationships with brokers, sales teams, and customers; resolve issues.
• Represent billing in corporate projects and strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate to resolve billing and payment inquiries.
• Ensure accurate monthly revenue reporting with Finance.
