Abacus Group is seeking a Senior Billing Accountant to join our Manhattan, NY office. You will interpret tenant leases, compute CAM and escalations, and manage billing records in Yardi with precision.

The role requires 3–5 years in billing or real estate accounting, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication. You will support monthly closings, budget prep, audits, and related finance operations.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of billing/accounting/real estate lease administration experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret tenant leases to support accurate invoicing and billing.
• Calculate CAM and escalation charges per lease agreements.
• Maintain control of revenue billing and update tenant charges in Yardi promptly.
• Prepare monthly accruals, reclass journal entries, and escalation files for core tenants.
• Administer Yardi for new leases, renewals, terminations and billing records.
• Monitor and process tenant commissions, allowances, and utility invoices.
• Perform monthly closing procedures and assist cash receipts.
• Meet with tenants to address billing inquiries and resolve issues.
• Support budget prep, forecasting, year-end audits, and J-SOX documentation.
