Job summary

KBR is seeking a Big Data Systems Engineer to deploy CHEETAS, a high-visibility data analytics suite, across multiple DoD ranges and labs. You will interface with customers during deployment, coordinate with system admins and developers, and resolve technical issues across diverse environments.

The role requires a TS/SCI clearance, a STEM degree with substantial DoD experience, and extensive hands-on big data skills. Remote work option with travel to DoD sites and labs nationwide is available.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI Security Clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in STEM Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or related field with 10 years of DoD experience.
• 3+ years hands-on with integration and configuration: SQL Server Big Data Cluster, CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat, Windows Server, VMware.
• 5+ years experience in big data environments.
• Adept at deploying and configuring Big Data and Knowledge Management tools in an enterprise environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to assist customers with installation and configuration of big data infrastructure.
• Willingness to travel 25% with potential surges up to 50% to support DoD ranges/labs.
• Experience with NFS, SMB, S3, Windows/Linux servers.

Responsibilities

• Deploy CHEETAS within customer DoD ranges and labs.
• Serve as frontline interface for customers during CHEETAS deployment.
• Collaborate with system administrators and software developers to resolve deployment issues.
• Deploy CHEETAS across disparate DoD environments with non-standard hardware stacks and vaults with no internet connectivity.
• Document procedures and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Travel to DoD ranges and labs as required.
