Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 12 years or Master’s degree plus 10 years of relevant work experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience in a Unix environment.
• Expert level programming with Java, Python, or equivalent.
• Experience with Big Data (MapReduce, Spark) applications and jobs.
• Experience with Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, Spark and related technologies.
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins.
• Hybrid work schedule based in Reston, VA.

Responsibilities

• Implement systems to gather and analyze large data sets for operational and business intelligence.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions in an Agile environment.
• Lead by example as a hands-on engineer and technical leader.
• Collaborate with architects, product managers, and operations to ensure quality and performance.
• Develop and maintain data processing pipelines with open-source tools in a big data ecosystem.
• Oversee testing, validation, and performance tuning of complex data jobs.
