Job summary

Verisign is seeking a software engineer specializing in networking, automation, and Internet Routing Security to design and build scalable distributed systems. Candidates should have 8+ years of engineering experience, strong API and data-format knowledge (REST/JSON/XML/YAML), and proficiency in multiple programming languages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with APIs and data formats such as REST, JSON, XML, YAML.
• Experience with network devices (routers, switches, load balancers) and routing protocols.
• Familiarity with RPKI, IRR/RPSL filtering, PKI infrastructure and related protocols.
• Understanding of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, VRRP, DHCP, TCP/UDP) and IPv6.
• Proficiency in a software development language and debugging skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and design scalable software systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain tools to support deployment, testing and operational functions for network infrastructure.
• Research and integrate industry best practices in network orchestration and monitoring.
• Identify gaps and lead solutions for pain points across organizations.
• Improve monitoring infrastructure and data visualization using NetFlow and streaming telemetry.
• Design and implement auto remediation for network events.
• Develop routing observability and provisioning pipelines across multi-vendor networks.
• Instrument routing infrastructure and document systems, runbooks, and incidents.
