Job summary

Thales in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Bid & Project Controller (Financial Analyst) to act as a Finance Business Partner for bids and programs, supporting the Finance, Bid & Program Management, Sales and Executives.

You will manage budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and program reporting, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust financial controls and timely delivery of project baselines. This role requires strong analytical skills and experience with SAP/ Primavera.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with 5+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s with 4+ years.
• Financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and planning experience required.
• Experience with bids and program finance, revenue/cost recognition, and financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for program reviews: planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting on projects of varying contract type and size.
• Support sales and bid management by providing financial assessments and ROI analysis for opportunities.
• Deliver program financials within contractual baselines and maintain updated business plans.
• Forecast monthly and multi-year budgets to include revenue and gross margin for all programs.
• Coordinate with Program Management, Finance, AR to ensure revenue components are properly accounted for.
• Assist auditors with documentation and reconciliations, including EAC and variance analysis.
