Job summary

Joint Commission is seeking a hands-on BI Architect to design, build, and govern core BI solutions while upholding architectural integrity across the enterprise BI environment. You own the end-to-end BI architecture, develop and maintain the multi-year platform roadmap, and mentor two offshore consultants while partnering with Data Engineering and Data Architecture.

In addition to shaping solution design, you will drive modeling standards, governance patterns, and complex implementations,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years building relational dimensional data models using Kimball methodology.
• 5+ years Power BI development including semantic modeling and DAX optimization.
• 5+ years with Power BI Datasets and SSAS Tabular including RLS/OiL.
• 5+ years with Enterprise Data Warehouse and ETL.
• Expert level T-SQL in SQL Server.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and data lake to Synapse pipelines.
• Experience with deployment pipelines, Git, and workspace lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the multi-year BI platform roadmap and governance.
• Translate requirements into physical data environments for EDW with Kimball modeling.
• Lead design of Tabular semantic models in Power BI Premium and Fabric with DAX optimization.
• Enforce BI development standards and governance across models, naming, DAX, reports, and performance.
• Manage Power BI and Fabric capacities, gateways, and performance across environments.
• Ensure platform compliance and audit readiness with HIPAA and security standards.
• Author deployment plans with rollback, validation, dependency mapping, and gates; drive postmortems.
• Enable self-service analytics and data literacy with reusable assets and standards.
• Direct two offshore consultants, assign work, review code/design, ensure standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and build business cases.
