Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior BI developer in Alabama to design, build, and maintain interactive Tableau and PowerBI dashboards, scorecards, and reports for diverse business units.

You will partner with stakeholders to capture requirements, connect Tableau to SQL Server, Snowflake, and cloud data sources, and optimize data models and dashboards for performance and governance. Strong SQL and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, BI, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Tableau and/or PowerBI development and enterprise reporting.
• Strong expertise in Tableau Desktop, Server, and Cloud.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience querying and manipulating large datasets.
• Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL processes.
• Experience developing KPIs, metrics, and executive-level dashboards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, scorecards, and reports.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate into visual solutions.
• Connect Tableau to data sources including SQL databases, cloud platforms, data warehouses, and flat files.
• Develop and optimize data models, calculations, filters, and dashboard actions.
• Create and maintain automated reporting solutions.
• Perform data validation, troubleshooting, and QA to ensure accuracy.
• Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views.
• Monitor dashboard performance and optimize for efficiency and scalability.
• Develop documentation, data dictionaries, and user guides.
• Partner with Data Engineering and Analytics teams to support enterprise reporting.
• Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Provide end-user support, training, and guidance on Tableau reporting.
