Job summary

Elevance Health is hiring a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join a team delivering analytic applications and reporting tools across BI platforms. The role involves collaborating with customers to gather requirements, designing data solutions, and mentoring peers.

You will work in a hybrid setup with office presence required 1-2 days per week, reporting to a Pulse Point location in Richmond, VA. The position emphasizes data integration, SQL development, and quality controls.

Qualifications

• Requires a BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience on one platform or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Advanced SQL skills including writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex queries, joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, and large-volume data transformations.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting data feeds for healthcare data environments and patient-level data is highly preferred.
• Experience interpreting data specifications and translating mappings into ETL/ELT solutions; knowledge of data quality and HIPAA/PHI requirements is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements.
• Anticipates opportunities for improvement and identifies alternate solutions.
• Collaborates with engineers for ideas for Web portals and analyzes complex change requests.
• Defines application scope and objectives and prepares functional/technical specifications.
• Analyzes detailed business and technical requirements; codes and maintains components of information systems.
• Mentors others on coding standards and conducts code reviews.
• Develops system testing and fixes defects; validates results with unit tests.
• Supports data information planning efforts and maintains development environment.
• Establishes connectivity to source systems and data repositories; conducts data discovery and ETL/ELT transformation work.
• Works with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions meeting data requirements and performance SLAs.
