Job summary

Flyover Attractions is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to own the data platform end to end, from POS ingestion through Microsoft Fabric to Power BI dashboards used daily. You will be the analytics SME, partnering with Revenue and Finance to turn ticketing and POS data into reliable reporting.

Role combines data engineering and BI with occasional on-site Level 1 IT tasks (up to ~4 hours/week) on hybrid days, and you will build robust pipelines, a clean gold layer, and maintain the

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills: complex joins, window functions, CTEs, performance tuning.
• Intermediate to advanced DAX: time intelligence, filter context, iterator functions.
• Power BI semantic modeling: star schemas, relationships, import vs. DirectQuery/Direct Lake trade-offs, report development, service administration.
• Able to translate stakeholder reporting needs into clear, actionable reporting.
• Self-directed: ownership of a domain and setting priorities with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Azure Data Factory pipelines ingesting data from multiple POS systems into Fabric.
• Architect and manage Fabric lakehouse/warehouse with bronze/silver/gold layers; handle capacity, cost management, security, monitoring.
• Own the database estate end to end including on-prem SQL Server: backups, patching, performance tuning, security.
• Design star schemas and semantic models; write DAX measures for attendance, revenue, and KPIs.
• Build Power BI dashboards with business teams; administer Power BI service: workspaces, refreshes, RLS, app distribution.
• Translate reporting needs to well-structured data solutions; support self-service BI and end-user enablement.
• Define data standards and documentation; evaluate Fabric capabilities as the platform evolves.
• Occasional Level 1 IT tasks on-site up to ~4 hours/week; remote support by Vancouver team.
• Other duties as assigned.
