Job summary

RSM US LLP is seeking a Temporary Senior Associate – Reporting Dashboard Engineer to join the Risk Consulting practice in Chicago. You will design and deliver enterprise dashboards using Power BI or Tableau, working with SQL and data models to meet regulatory and executive reporting needs.

You will collaborate with business and technology stakeholders, build scalable analytics, and contribute to data quality and governance efforts across data warehouses and modern platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in BI, reporting, analytics, dashboard development, or data engineering.
• Advanced SQL development experience with large/complex datasets.
• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI and/or Tableau.
• Experience designing dimensional data models (star/snowflake).
• Experience supporting data warehousing and reporting environments.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data integration tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visuals using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
• Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate needs into scalable analytics solutions.
• Develop and optimize data models, semantic layers, and reporting datasets for enterprise reporting.
• Write complex SQL queries to analyze, validate, and transform large datasets.
• Build and support ETL/ELT processes and data integration workflows across multiple sources.
• Create executive dashboards, scorecards, KPIs, and management reporting packages.
• Implement data quality controls and governance standards for accuracy and consistency.
• Investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve data discrepancies.
• Support user acceptance testing, deployment activities, and production support.
• Document reporting solutions, processes, and technical specifications.
