Job summary

Socket.dev in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Business Analytics Engineer to turn Lakers data into insights, dashboards, and decision support. You will own BI across ticketing and core business areas, building dashboards and defining metrics.

The role requires 3–5+ years in analytics, Tableau/Excel/SQL proficiency, and strong communication. You’ll contribute to budgeting and forecasting and work with stakeholders across functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in BI/analytics or related discipline.
• Proficiency in Tableau or other BI software.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Proficiency in SQL preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with stakeholders across functions.
• Experience in sports, entertainment, live events, hospitality, or consumer-focused industries is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own analytics and reporting for ticketing and related business verticals.
• Design, develop, and maintain Tableau/PowerBI dashboards and BI solutions providing visibility into key metrics.
• Automate recurring reporting and develop scalable analytics to improve data access.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Identify data quality issues and gaps in raw and transformed datasets.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of dashboards and underlying data with clear definitions.
• Understand source systems and data definitions affecting metrics interpretation.
• Support annual revenue budgeting and forecasting.
• Design experiments to measure incremental impact and inform decisions.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, Analytics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field

Experience: 3–5+ years in BI/analytics or related

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and presentation skills
