Job summary

The Los Angeles Lakers in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Senior Business Analytics Engineer to turn Lakers business data into actionable insights and decision support. You will own BI, dashboards, and reporting across ticketing and core verticals, translating complex data into clear recommendations.

You will design and maintain Tableau/PowerBI dashboards, automate recurring reporting, and collaborate with stakeholders to improve data accessibility and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
• 3-5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, revenue analytics, strategy, or related discipline.
• Proficiency in Tableau or other BI software.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Proficiency in SQL preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and reporting integrity.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with stakeholders across functions.
• Experience in sports, entertainment, live events, hospitality, or consumer-focused industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own analytics and reporting for ticketing and other Lakers business verticals.
• Design, develop, and maintain Tableau/PowerBI dashboards and BI solutions with visibility into sales, revenue, conversion, and retention metrics.
• Automate recurring reporting and build scalable analytics to improve efficiency and data access.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Work with raw data and identify data quality issues and gaps that impact analysis.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of dashboards, reports, and underlying data with clear definitions.
• Develop understanding of source systems and data definitions affecting metrics.
• Support annual revenue budgeting and forecasting as needed.
• Design experiments and analyze incremental impact to inform decisions.
