Job summary

PetSmart seeks a Senior BI Developer for Store Operations & Services at the Phoenix Home Office. You will deliver data-driven insights, translate business needs into reporting solutions, and collaborate across IS and business teams to drive operational efficiency.

You will own DMAIC reporting, lead BI tool governance (MicroStrategy, Tableau, ThoughtSpot), and partner with stakeholders to turn data into actionable recommendations while maintaining strong data quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three or more years of related experience in finance or analytical reporting.
• Retail experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define, Measure, Analyze, Implement and Control (DMAIC) a portfolio of Store Operations reporting focused on understanding, supporting, and improving relationships with internal Home Office and Field partners and external customers.
• Influence business leaders, with Director alignment, to accept and better understand delivery, technology, and alternative views that elevate operations.
• Lead user acceptance testing by comprehending, driving, and validating BI reporting metrics, attributes, and objects; clearly communicate data or object errors requiring correction by IS partners; and follow through to resolution, including root-cause evaluation.
• Translate business needs into reporting solutions through the data stack, data storage, and ETL processes; fully comprehend and roadmap final data outputs with team support.
• Translate technical specifications for business users and business requirements for technical teams.
• Lead dotted-line IS team builds to deliver enterprise-ready reporting solutions.
• Engage and collaborate on the development of a vision and roadmap that continuously advances reporting solutions.
• Understand and apply IT terminology and a team-based approach to end-to-end reporting solutions, including big data, ETL, mapping and architecture, and report development.
• Turn standard data into visualizations and elevated user-interface applications.
• Resolve issues quickly and accept responsibility for resolution.
