Job summary

Grady Health System in Atlanta is seeking a Benefits Manager to lead the administration, compliance, and continuous improvement of our employee benefits programs. You will oversee health and welfare, retirement plans, leave programs, wellness initiatives, and vendor relationships to support wellbeing and talent strategies.

The role partners with HR, Finance, Payroll, leadership, and external vendors to design competitive benefit programs, ensure ACA/ERISA compliance, manage budgets, and measure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in benefits administration, human resources, compensation and benefits, or total rewards.
• Experience managing complex benefit programs for mid-sized to large organizations (500+ employees) preferred.
• Experience leading benefits strategy, plan design, compliance, and cost management initiatives preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration of medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, and voluntary benefit programs.
• Ensure accurate enrollments, eligibility determinations, and benefit changes.
• Manage annual open enrollment planning, execution, and post-enrollment audits.
• Establish and maintain benefits policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, FMLA and applicable labor laws.
• Coordinate benefits audits and maintain documentation.
• Manage relationships with carriers, brokers, consultants, and third-party administrators.
• Oversee retirement programs, including 401(k), pension, and deferred compensation plans.
• Oversee FMLA, ADA, short-term and long-term disability, parental leave, and other leave programs.
• Develop and implement benefits communication strategies; create enrollment guides and presentations.
• Analyze enrollment, participation, utilization, and cost data; track KPIs and trends.
• Lead employee wellness and wellbeing programs; manage EAP and recognition programs.
