Job description

Join to apply for the Senior Benefits Specialist role at Florida Detroit Diesel Allison.

The Sr. Benefits Analyst is responsible for supporting all employee benefit programs, including the administration of defined contribution plans (such as 401(k) and profit sharing), defined benefit plans, and health and welfare matters.

The position involves conducting analytical analysis, including data analysis to make comparisons, draw conclusions, and identify cause-and-effect relationships to solve complex problems.

The Senior Benefits Analyst will collaborate with internal and external vendors and auditors to perform analysis and audits of programs and plans, resolving issues as needed.

Additionally, the role provides backup support for existing staff concerning all programs, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Responding to employee inquiries related to all benefit plans.
  2. Coordinating with accounting, treasury, finance, HR, IT, and other departments to manage benefit-related payroll deductions and vendor payments, ensuring proper recording on employee paychecks, W-2 forms, and company records.
  3. Establishing and maintaining strong internal audits and controls to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security, working with auditors during compliance reviews.
  4. Monitoring compliance with federal regulations, analyzing new legislation, and recommending necessary changes.
  5. Auditing interface files between vendors and HRIS/Payroll systems, validating accuracy, and proposing process improvements.
  6. Serving as the primary administrator for benefit-related systems.
  7. Maintaining and updating plan documents, descriptions, and contracts.
  8. Reviewing current processes and implementing changes to support company growth.
  9. Conducting research and analysis, applying critical thinking to develop findings and recommendations.
  10. Managing day-to-day benefits administration and vendor relationships.
  11. Performing miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Preferred qualifications include benefits-related certification, proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Access), excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and project management capabilities. The candidate must be detail-oriented.

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in benefits or HR-related roles.
