Brown & Brown Insurance has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Benefits Consultant, supporting our team in Minneapolis, MN!

The Senior Benefits Consultant is responsible for employee benefits account management responsibilities. This includes day to day client contact and assistance with daily service functions, which includes utilizing technical expertise to retain present clients, administering marketing and renewal functions, and assisting Team Lead in servicing the financial consulting needs of the employee benefit clients.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  1. Evaluates financial and utilization metrics for clients including but not limited to monthly financial reports, utilization metrics and benchmarks as well as assist with other ad hoc reports and analysis.
  2. Development and execution of client benefit strategy.
  3. Independently advises clients on all areas of compliance.
  4. Intermediate level of compliance, benchmarking, renewal & marketing, reporting & analytics, and able to perform these functions with little guidance.
  5. Provide client utilization and financial reporting to Team Lead and to clients.
  6. Partners with Team Lead to lead client meetings and presentations.
  7. Partners with Team Lead to onboard new clients.
  8. Strong knowledge of and relationships with vendors.
  9. Delegates tasks, training and onboarding to Specialists as appropriate.
  10. Participates in market meetings, seminars and training programs as directed.
  11. Monitor monthly financials for client including entry of data into client exhibits.
  12. Prepare and send monthly financial reports to clients with analysis of activity and large claim detail.
  13. Prepare basic financial/underwriting exhibits as requested including but not limited to financial projections, large claim analysis, specific stop loss analysis, demographics analysis, IBNR, etc.
  14. Work with Team Lead to develop reporting requirements and any deviations or customizations in those reports.
  15. Assists Team Lead in preparing requests for proposals and renewals of benefit coverages.
  16. Other duties may be assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  1. Bachelors’ Degree and/or equivalent work experience required.
  2. 8+ years employee benefits experience with a thorough understanding and knowledge of employee benefits.
  3. Must obtain and maintain active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License.
  4. Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  5. Microsoft Excel – Strong to expert level skills required.
  6. Strong analytical and critical thinking ability.
  7. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Ability to work independently.
  10. Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  11. This position may require routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. If required, acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements of this position.

Pay Range

75,000 - 125,000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
