Job summary

NFP, an Aon company, seeks a Senior Consultant to lead client interactions as a trusted benefits advisor across medical, life, disability programs and more. You may supervise junior staff and guide strategy development with clients and supervisors.

You’ll negotiate with carriers and oversee open enrollment, audits, and renewal actions. You will analyze plans, explain funding strategies, and ensure deliverables meet client expectations, while maintaining strong carrier relationships and

Qualifications

• Knowledge of benefits administration, HealthCare Reform, industry trends, carrier products and services.
• Ability to work independently and anticipate client and team needs.
• Effective time management and decision making skills.
• Diligent follow up skills.
• Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Commanding presentation and public speaking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate terms, conditions, coverage limits and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
• Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with clients; act as the subject matter expert on Health & Welfare Benefits.
• Maintain a project plan to ensure client deliverables are provided on time; delegate work.
• Build and maintain relationships with carriers, companies and clients; inform clients of industry trends and regulatory issues.
• Explain legislative guidelines including COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, 125, Health Care Reform to clients.
• Review requests for proposals and insurance plan analyses; negotiate with carriers and renewals.
• Oversee open enrollment processes and client communication materials.
• Conduct annual client compliance audits and understand client financial mechanics.
