Job summary

Santa Maria-Bonita School District in California is seeking an Instructional Assistant III – Behavioral Support Assistant to assist in data collection and monitoring of behavior support plans for students with special needs. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred, or passing assessment demonstrating readiness.
Ability to implement behavior management techniques for students with disabilities.
Familiarity with safety and first aid procedures in school settings.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning and conducting instructional, training, and therapy activities.
Observe and control student behavior according to approved procedures.
Support students with social-emotional needs to maximize independence.
Prepare instructional materials and learning aids as directed by teachers.
Provide routine first aid and CPR as needed.
Coordinate with teachers on student progress and programs.
