Job summary

Rowland Unified School District is seeking a dedicated Behavior Support Assistant to help support behaviorally challenged students in the Special Education location. You will assist a certificated teacher, monitor student behavior, and contribute to activities that enhance academic performance, self-esteem, and social skills.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant coursework; two years of experience with at-risk or special needs students is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; courses in child development/psychology desirable.
• Two years experience with at-risk or special needs students preferred; experience may be waived with relevant degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist a certificated teacher in supporting behaviorally challenged students.
• Monitor and redirect student behavior; support academic performance and social skills.
• Provide training and supervision to students in school programs and related duties.
